9th Annual Trap and Skeet Tournament
A.O. Reed & Company Threepeats as Team Champion
Kurtis and Mike Sorchy Take Top Individual Honors

The 9th annual ASHRAE Trap & Skeet event is in the books. Attendance was slightly off in 2007, however the 29 participants were greeted by sunny skies, little wind and warm temperatures for the event. The format was slightly altered this year. The skeet sub-event that had been included each year, was substituted for a 24-yard trap event. The event committee thought it might speed things up, so decided to change the format. Participants shot a total of 75 targets, 50 from the 16-yard line and 25 from the 24-yard line.
Top individual honors went to Kurtis Sorchy, with a score of 73x75, seven targets over runner-up AND dad Mike Sorchy’s 66x75.
For the third consecutive year, the hot shots from A. O. Reed & Company ( Bryan Fulgham, Chip Ennis, Mike Sorchy, Kurtis Sorchy and Todd Wilcox) took home the team trophy with a score of 299, followed by the UMEC #1 team of Mike Hearne, Frank Saunders, Gary Klingener, Rene Olivo and Ron Florence. Great job guys. OK shooters, the bar has been set, so let’s go out next year and get after that bunch from A.O. Reed.
The committee would like to also thank University Mechanical for sponsoring the lunch and LSW Engineers for providing all the refreshments for the event.

During the 2007 year, the trap committee lost two committee members due to job changes. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please contact Chuck Poindexter at 858-636-5735 or email cpoindexter@semprautilities.com for more details.
A big thanks to Chuck and his hard-working committee for another great event!
