Mechanical Engineer - HVAC and Commissioning
San Diego, CA

Location and team

KEMA is seeking a full-time commissioning agent in the San Diego office.

Tasks may include

  • Identifying and documenting building performance criteria.
  • Design peer review and submittal review
  • Developing Commissioning plans, reports, pre-functional and functional test procedures
  • Complete technical and financial analysis
  • Limited specification writing
  • Green building design
  • Marketing and project management
  • Energy Modeling

What we're asking

  • Familiarity with building design and construction
  • Understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation/controls, building design and construction process
  • Ability to understand and develop commissioning test procedures, schematic diagrams, and specifications
  • Knowledge of MEP related LEED credits
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong verbal communication skills

Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Engineering degree
  • Commissioning experience
  • Familiarity with the LEED rating system
  • Experience on green building projects
  • Professional engineering license, Certified Facility Manager or Certified Energy Manager
