Committees

The different committees of the San Diego Chapter are truly what make things happen. In many cases, however, these "committees" are chaired and run by one volunteer. If you are interested in getting involved in the local chapter, please contact Mark Richards.

	Attendance / Reception - Chair: Heather O'Donnell Heather O'Donnell is responsible for coordinating the attendance of each event and meeting with the programs chair. Her focus is to foster increased member participation in chapter affairs, particularly at chapter meetings.
	Auditing - Chair: CJ (Jim) McKinley, P.E. As a non-profit organization, theSan Diego Chapter of ASHRAE is required to go through an audit process each year to ensure that the chapter funds are properly allocated and accounted for. The committee reviews the treasurer's annual report before the end of the year.
	CRC Action -Chair: Dennis Christie. As the President-Elect, Dennis will be acting as the chapter's delegate at the upcoming CRC. He will be responsible for assembling final reports and rosters, submitting technical awards applications, and introducing motions for the Region.
	Finance - Chair: Heather Schopplein, P.E. As chapter Treasurer, Heather is responsible for maintaining the chapter's banking accounts.
	Historian - Chair: Terry Erickson As longtime member and chapter historian, Terry chronicles the events of the year and puts together interviews with notable members.
	Honors and Awards - Walter Houle As Honor and Awards Chair, Walter promotes the various Society and Regional awards to encourage Chapter members to apply and to assist them through the application process. He also works on the various Chapter Awards.
	Membership - Chair: Eric Glatzl, P.E. Eric is responsible for the promotion of increased membership enrollment and the upgrading of members.
	Newsletter - Chair: Jennifer Felsburg Jennifer keeps us updated with the current events of the local ASHRAE chapter through the monthly newsletter
	Nominating - Chair: Michael Burgess, P.E. The nominating committee is responsible for selecting candidates for various positions and honors at the chapter, regional, and society level.
	Publicity / Welcoming - Chair: Cindy Hyatt Cindy is responsible for promoting the various events and meetings of the chapter. She is also responsible for welcoming new members.
	Research Promotion - Chair : Andy Nash The Reseach Promotion Committee works to communicate effectively about the objectives, accomplishments and benefits of ASHRAE research and its value to every ASHRAE member and the industry. Andy works to increase the funding of Society-sponsored research through the chapter.
	Special Events - Chair: Mark Silke Mark coordinates the efforts of committee members in charge of the Chapter's special events, including the Golf Tournament, the Volleyball Tournament, the Trap and Skeet Tournament, the Holiday Party, and Fishing Trips.
	Student Activities - Chair: Mike Techner The Student Activates Chair acts as the liaison between the chapter and area educational institutions. The committee works to develop and coordinate scholarships and other student incentive awards.
	YEA - Kevin Blankemeier Kevin coordinates the events for the Young Engineers in ASHRAE group.
